Don’t Let Air Leakage Harm Your Wines. Get an Effective Door Manufactured by Wine Cellar Designers Group.
All of our wine cellar doors are individually handcrafted in the old-world style. Each door is LVL constructed and is created with mortise & tenon corners. This means the doors are specially constructed to main the environment in your wine cellar without warping or degrading.
A poorly constructed California wine cellar door can cause storage problems in the future. It can damage your favorite vintages, as well as the cooling equipment installed in your wine room. It is wise to choose an experienced manufacturer of wine cellar doors, like Wine Cellar Designers Group. Our doors are designed to provide a tight seal and to add beauty to wine rooms.
How a Quality Wine Cellar Entryway Can Save Your Investment
One way to prevent environmental factors from damaging your wine is to equip your wine cellar with a quality door. The right choice of door can preserve your wine’s quality for years to come.
When installed properly, your door can help regulate the storage conditions in a wine room. An unstable environment will force the wine cooling system to work harder than it should, resulting in high-energy bills.
Preserve Wine’s Quality with an Effective Entryway
We ensure that our clients’ wine storage facilities are the safest places for wines. We install proper wine room insulation and an efficient wine cooling system in every wine cellar we build. Additionally, we make sure that your wine cellar door is of high quality.
The main purpose of the door is to help stabilize the conditions in a California wine cellar. A poorly constructed entryway will allow warm air to get into the cellar, and cool air to leave it.
When this happens, there will be temperature and humidity fluctuations. Poor storage conditions such as this can be detrimental to wine.
Wine easily deteriorates when stored in a room with an unstable environment. The chemical properties will be affected, which may result in wine faults.
Important Sealing Components of a California Wine Cellar Door
At Wine Cellar Designers Group, we have extensive experience in manufacturing doors. To make sure that there are no gaps in your door, we install every wine room with the best sealing components.
All sides of each door are weather-stripped. We also equip the doors with a threshold and an automatic door bottom. Each of these door components must be of the correct specifications, to prevent air from leaking to and from the wine cellar.
Your door must also have a bottom sweep, which will shut the door automatically when someone goes in or out of the wine room. This provides convenience to the owner and keeps the cool air inside the cellar.
Properties that You Should Look for in a Wine Cellar Door
A refrigerated wine cellar requires an exterior grade door, to withstand the humid conditions inherent in a proper wine enclave. At Wine Cellars Designers Group, we use the latest technology, to ensure that our doors seal wine rooms effectively.
Wooden doors must be 2 inches thick. Glass entryways must be double-paned, and must have an insulation value of R-5.
Add Beauty to Your Home with Attractive Doors
Functionality is the main factor that you should consider in choosing a wine room entryway. Secondary to that is aesthetic value.
A door says a lot about an owner’s personality. During the design process, it is best to talk with a specialist about the style that you want for your door. If you choose to customize your entryway, you can incorporate your own design. This will give a personalized touch to your California wine cellar door.

Types of Doors Offered by Wine Cellar Designers Group
In choosing a design, you should consider the ambiance that you want to achieve in your wine room, the existing décor of your home, your personal taste, and your available budget.
Our functional doors are available in wood, glass, wrought iron, and reclaimed wine barrel. They are pre-hung and come with a door sweep, a threshold, and a perimeter seal.
Classic Wood & Glass Wine Cellar Doors
At Wine Cellar Designers Group, we cater to the individual needs of our clients. For wine collectors who want a classic appeal in their storage rooms, we recommend wood and/or glass wine cellar doors.
These doors can make for an eye-catching entrance to your wine’s resting place. Our wooden doors are made of all heart redwood, with a thickness of 2 inches. The glass sections consist of tempered panels, with two 3/16th inch thickness.
You may choose a plain door, or one with an etched design, customized to fit your taste. Our standard etching designs include grapevines, Bacchus, border, and cherub. If you do not opt for an etching design from our collection, you may provide us with your own unique artwork, such as a vineyard scene, your family initials, etc. If the glass is to be painted, it must be triple-paned.
You may also add a wrought-iron gate and grills, attached to all-heart redwood doors. They are hand-forged and can be coated with your chosen finish.
Wine Cellar Doors – Alone or Pre-hung
All purpose-built wine cellar doors can be purchased alone or pre-hung.
Our pre-hung doors include a choice of a wooden threshold or an automatic door bottom. They include your choice of 7 casing options for both interior and exterior casings. The doors are stained and lacquered with your choice of 6 different stain colors.
Create a Dramatic Entrance with Wine Cellar Wrought Iron Doors
There is nothing more elegant than an entryway made from ornate wrought iron and glass. Our skillful craftsmen can create the perfect door, to impress anyone who sees it. Our wrought iron wine cellar doors are available in the soft arch, full arch, square top, and eyebrow arch options.
Earth-Friendly Wine Barrel Entrance
Our doors made from Fontenay wine barrels are available in cooperage, infusion, and stave. The patterns and markings on the wooden planks create a unique entry to your cellar.
Cooperage doors are constructed from the heads of oak wine barrels. The authentic stamps on the barrel heads are displayed beautifully with this variety.
The infusion door is made up of wood pieces from the inner section of the oak barrels. The rich, red color of the wine is imparted onto the wood and can add additional beauty to your entryway.
Doors made from the outer sections of the barrels are called stave. These doors display the distinct markings created from the removed hoops of the barrel.
Constructed with two panels and 2-inch thickness, all of our wine barrel doors are ideal for indoor use. This is also a suitable option if you have wine barrel flooring.
